KYC Templates

Once you’ve created a client you can then issue specific “Know Your Customer” (KYC) requirements as part of your screening process. The checks you perform on your clients will be decided on a risk-based approach and may be performed remotely or in the presence of the client.

A KYC check could include one of these common requests:

  • Copy of the Passport
  • Copy of the driver’s licence
  • Copy of a recent utility bill or bank statement

However you may need to request a specific document or even a written statement to a specific question. For this we allow customised KYC templates to be created within the software. You can then request any document you require or draft specific questions that will appear in the client portal.

Creating a reusable KYC template

To create a reusable KYC template first navigate to the “Settings” area in your account, you will find this option in the left-hand menu. In the main list of settings, you will see an option for “KYC Templates”.

Your account will be pre-loaded with some commonly used templates. You can also create a new template by clicking the button “Add new KYC template”.

You will then be asked what type of request is being made.

Document Upload - Use this option when you want your client to upload a document.

Question - Use this option for asking specific questions about the client.

You can then provide a title of what is being requested along with some explanatory notes. The title and notes will both be visible to the user when they go to complete the check.

For some documents, you may want to request that they are notarised or you may want to narrow specific checks to corporate entities or individuals (e.g. an Incorporation Certificate check should not be allocated to a Person, only a company). These preferences can be set at the bottom of the form.

Updating KYC templates

From the main KYC template page, you can at any time edit an existing KYC Requirement by clicking on the corresponding edit link.

It should be noted that any edits applied will only affect future use of that template and will not retrospectively change any wordings where the template has been applied for existing clients.
